Bio

Jakov Kolega was born in 1986 in Zadar, Croatia. After finishing highschool in Zadar, he moved to Zagreb, the capital of Croatia to continue his education on Faculty of Agriculture.
He was interested in art, both music and visual arts, for as long as he can remember. After seeing his brother's drawings, he took a pencil and tried for himself. He started with sketches, caricatures and graffiti. He used tempera and pastels but mostly pencils and markers. He continued improving his work during his teenage years but with emphasis on drawings and graffiti.
At that time he focused on his love for music by playing a guitar. When he moved to Zagreb, he founded a punk band “Dirty Callahan”. The band lasted for only one year but not long after break up Jakov joined blues band “Skydog”. In “Skydog”, he played bass. It was then when he fell in love with that instrument and its sound. Since then Jakov focused on improving his skill as bass-player. In 2008 he founded a new funk,rock,hip-hop band called “Apsolud”. Bands first album called “Nebuloze” will be released by the end of 2010. On this album he has participated as a bass- player and composer, but also as an arranger and songwriter.
In 2007 Jakov painted his first acrylic on canvas and thereby achieved his long time desire. Since then he kept developping his own style. Jakov draws inspiration from music, faith, love, morality, honesty… to be more precise, anything not tangible and thus not contaminated by the people.
